Grand Cherokee Leaks

Q. Hi Vince, I recently wrote to you in regards to my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee's A/C Drain hose which was clogged. Thank you very much for the info, we drilled through the casing and were able to fix that problem.

Unfortunately, I have come to learn that that wasn't the only leak I have. After washing the car, I now have a puddle again but caused by water in the main duct from the front of the windshield. Obviously there is a drain there also, can you tell me how I might get to it? I couldn't even get the wipers off. I need serious help. What are you doing tomorrow?? :)

Thanks,
Steve

A. If the puddle is on the drivers side, there's a TSB on that also.

Here's what to do to correct it:

1. Remove the two screws from the kick panel trim and remove the trim.
2. Inspect the area to makes sure that all of the rubber grommets and plugs are seated properly.
3. Roll the carpet out of the way and inspect the area for the presence of a fixturing hole. If the hole is present, seal it with RTV sealant, Mopar P/N 82300234 or equivalent, and allow the sealant to cure.

As far as another drain hose in the main duct work, there is none. The only drain is in the evaporator case which you already repaired. If you are getting water in from up there, it's either a bad seal around the air intake or you have a leak around the windshield.
