Wires, Wires Everywhere
Q. I am trying to replace the Idiot lights in my 1986 Monte Carlo with a gauge cluster set. The car has a 305 V-8 with auto trans, and has a carb, not injected. I was hoping you could tell me if the wire for the Oil pressure sending unit is there and what color it is. Also for the temperature sending unit. Do I have to run wires for anything or are they all there and have to be dug out of someplace? Any help in this matter will be a help as I can not find the info that I need in any repair manuals.

DaveA. The wire for the OPS is a tan wire that goes directly from the OPS to the instrument cluster. It is pin 39 in the cluster connector.
The wire for the temperature sender is dark green and goes into pin 35 in the same connector. Hope this helps you.
