Ford Escort Oil In Air Filter Housing Q. Hello I have a question for you that I would like for you to help me with if you can. I have a 1995 Ford Escort LX with a 1.9-liter fuel injected engine. It has auto trans, P/B, P/S and A/C, with 150,000 miles on it. My problem is in the box where the air filter goes stays full of oil. I'm talking one to two inches so I can't use an air filter. If you can answer this for me I will appreciate. Jerry

A. Nine times out of ten this is caused by a bad PCV valve. I would simply replace it and that should take care of the problem.
