Hot Wiring An AMC Jeep CJ-7

Q. 1983 AMC Jeep CJ-7, coil is okay, 6 volts, 12 volts during start, ignition module okay. No spark while trying to start engine, one spark when key is turned off. This appears to be an electrical problem. Can I jump 12 volts to get the engine to run?

A. If you run 12 volts to the Positive (+) side of the coil, yes, the engine should run. Assuming the rest of the ignition system is good.
