Pontiac Lemans Codes 24 & 33

Q. Hi I'm from Poland and I have a problem with my car Pontiac. This is a 1989 Pontiac Lemans LE with 1.6 liter OHC engine with manual transmission. My problem is with fuel injection (car burn to much fuel).

Pontiac Lemans Codes 24 & 33

I check engine with diagnostic trouble codes and receive two codes 24 and 33. Code 24 is - Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Circuit (I have broken speed cord). Code 33 is - Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit (High sig.)

What does it mean?
How can I fix it?
Is there any connection between these two errors? And where is the MAP sensor?

Thanks for any answer!

(In Poland it is very hard to diagnose any problem with this car! We don't have any Pontiac service.)

A. The code 24 is due to a broken speedometer cable. It should not affect the fuel problem. The MAP sensor should be at the end of a vacuum hose somewhere on the engine of firewall. A little black box 3" x 1½" with a 3 wire plug and a vacuum line on it. This hose may be broken and causing that code to set.
