Toyota Tercel Has No Fuel Pump Q. 1986 Toyota Tercel Wagon 3A-C engine, 168,000 miles. she will turn over but not start. There doesn't appear to be any gas getting to the carburetor, but dummy me can't find anything that looks like the fuel pump picture in the Chilton books. Thanks...

A. The car had either a mechanical or electric fuel pump. So if you trace the fuel line back under the car and can not find the mechanical fuel pump, you must have an electric fuel pump.

You should be able to get the fuel pump from an access cover under the back seat.
