Buzzing Ranger
Q. Good Morning: I have a 1995 Ford Ranger - four banger with manual transmission. My problem is that when I turn off the ignition, the buzzer and dome light come on as they should - but they will not go off. I pulled the fuse but it also operates the wipers. HELP! Jim
A. I would say there are two possibilities here Jim. Either the ignition switch is shorted and not breaking contact as it should or there is a problem with the time control that shuts off the lights and buzzer after a pre-set time. What you will need is a good wiring diagram to trace out the wiring and test each part.
Since this can be a particularly difficult problem to locate, you may want to consider having an electrical shop locate it for you.
