Pontiac Firebird A Drowned Rat?

Q. Some time ago, my car 'washed-out' going through some high water. After drying out, I got the car going without any problems except what I've been noticing now. When cold, the car seems to 'bog-down' in second and sometimes third gear around 2,000 to 3,500 rpms. But, as the whole vehicle 'warms-up', this becomes far less noticeable, even disappears it seems.

Pontiac Firebird A Drowned Rat?

Any ideas? The oxygen sensors were replaced after the 'wash-out'. Perhaps water in the manual transmission that settles out when the car sits but gets mixed up as I drive it around? I really don't know. Nothing else seems to be wrong at all.

  • 2000 Pontiac Firebird
  • 3.8 liter V-6
  • Manual transmission
  • 42,000 miles
  • Fuel Injection

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
Jeff

A. Flood damage and electronics, it's just a matter of time before the real headaches begin. My suggestion is to remove the connectors from every sensor or module and make sure no corrosion is growing. Clean, reinstall and hope for the best.
