Questions and Answers

Kia Rio

Q. Hi, my name is Gab. I need to know how to deactivate a check engine light in a Kia Rio after I have done a tune up?

A. Since that is a 2001 model I don't have any specific information on it yet. If it is the check engine light, it is most likely on because the computer has detected a problem. What you can do is disconnect the negative battery cable for about 10 minutes. That will clear the computer. If the check engine light comes back on, then there is a problem. Since it is a new car and probably still under warranty, I would take it to the dealer to have the problem located and corrected.
