Sunfire Master And Slave

Q. Greetings, I have a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire 5 speed and I need to change the Master Clutch Cylinder and Slave Cylinder. I took the car to a mechanic for an estimate and he told me that it cost $1,200.00. Can you please explain me the procedures so I can do it myself?

Thanks in advance for all your help

A. Master cylinder is on the firewall near the brake master cylinder. Should be a clip on clutch pedal to remove, a couple of bolts or nuts and pull it out through the engine side. The slave is bolted to transmission. Same thing, a couple of bolts and it's off. Install new parts with lines and bleed the system with brake fluid.
