Needs Advice

Q. Hi, I got a question. Which car is more mechanically reliable: Camaro, Trans AM, or a Monte Carlo? I am looking into late 80's models. Do you think I should go stick or not? What do you recommend?

Thanks for reading this,
Mike

A. Gee Mike, that's a loaded question. I'm no fan of General Motors products and I, personally, would not buy one. I haven't owned a GM product since 1975. As far as reliability, all three are about equal, in fact the Camero and Trans Am are built on basically the same platform.

What I would recommend is a manual transmission. They get better gas milage and generally last longer and are cheaper to overhaul then an automatic transmission. If you drive mostly city it might get tiring doing a lot of shifting, but on the other hand city driving is especially hard on an automatic.
