Chevy Silverado Steering Column Q. 1976 - 1977 steering columns. Is there a difference between them, and if so can you tell me what it is? I have a 1977 Chevy Silverado and the steering column needs replacing. I have a friend who has a 1976 column and would like to install it if I can. Please help! Vicki

A. Without looking at the both of them together, I don't have a clue. Seems to me that if they look same length and have same features it should be easy swap. I don't remember these two years being that different. Go for it.
