Stuck Rotor

Q. I hope this finds you well. I was needing to know how to remove the rear brake rotor on a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix. I have tried "pounding" on the rotor. wedging it off with a chisel. I have take the studs out and tried the two previous methods. I have taken four bolts out on what appears to be a bearing housing and tried removing that.

And yes the caliper is off. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David

A. Sometimes they seize on there pretty good. Assuming you have all the studs out, soak the center hole with penetrating oil. I prefer a rubber mallet to pound it off from the inside of the rotor. If this model uses a separate brake shoe assembly for the parking brake it may have a layer or ridge of rust keeping it on. If that is the case you need to back off the adjustment to help get it off.
