Chevy S10 Blowing ECM1 Fuse
Q. I have a 1999 Chevy S10, with a 4 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, P/S ana A/C. I am blowing the 15 amp ECM1 fuse as soon as I turn the key to start. Could you give me an idea of what my problem could possibly be?
Thanks...
A. Something on that circuit is shorted to ground. Open the hood and have a look around. Has anyone been under there recently? Maybe they disturbed a harness. This circuit involves a pink wire that should run from the under hood fuse block to the ignition coil, ignition module, crank sensor and maybe other places.
I've seen harnesses fall onto the pass side exhaust manifold and melt the wire until it shorts onto the cast iron manifold.
