Upgrading A Nissan 200-SX Q. Dear Sir, I have a 1987 Nissan 200-SX. Currently it runs like S***. I would like to do some upgrades to the engine, but I have not found anyone, or any web sites that offer any info for my engine, or car year. The engine is the "CA20E". I would like to put a new air filter, along with a new intake, but I do not know which one, or how it will effect the engine's computer.

I would also like to get the intake manifold polished, and do an upgrade to the ignition, as well as the fuel injector's. Now as far as the exhaust goes. Well I would like to run duel pipes out the back. I know that I will need a new exhaust manifold, but can I run two mufflers, and two catalytic converters, or should I run a split after the muffler.

I know that most people are into having their cars sound like a "pissed off Bumble Bee", but unfortunately I am not one of those people. I know that I must be asking a lot, if not the impossible, but in short I guess what I am really asking for is a step by step procedure to rebuild and upgrade my engine. I have not done any kind of maintenance to the transmission either. What all would be involved in making sure that the transmission is still in good condition.

I have bought the "Hayne's and Chilton" manuals for the car but they just show how to rebuild the engine, not how or what I would need to do an upgrade. Like I said, I know that I am asking a lot, if not the impossible. But I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know if this is something that you would be able to help me with, or at least point me in the right direction, so that I can get these things done. A. Performance modifications are a bit out of my pervue. As far as what's available to upgrade your engine, I think the best place to start would be with JC Whitney and then hit a few speed shops.
