1976 Datsun Pick-Up

Q. Hello, I need to know the specs on the putting back the timing chain and gears for a 1976 Datsun truck, the settings & order. The settings for the lifters would also be helpful.

A. Ahhh... the old L20B engine. I shed a tear when Nissan did away with that engine, along with the A-14's.

I don't have a manual for that engine anymore, so I don't have a picture of the timing chain setup. But I can tell you the firing order is 1-3-4-2 clockwise on the cap. The dwell is 50 degrees and the valve clearance is .012" exhaust and .010" intake cold. Spark plugs are NGK BPR6ES-II and gapped at .035."
