Toyota And Honda Problems

Q. I have no brake lights on my 1991 Toyota Camry. I've checked and there is no power to them. I tried to remove the brake light switch, but can't figure out how to remove it. I don't know for sure that is the problem, but thought I could check it if I could get it out.

I also have an 1988 Honda Accord that apparently has had the rings on at least one cylinder deteriorate. I'm getting blow-by that is leaking out the air cleaner. I don't get much out the exhaust, so I'd like to run it to death (206,000) but I can't have so much oil leaking out in the building where I work. Could I just stop-up the tube going from the valve cover to the air intake?

Thanks...

A. The brake light switch is fairly easy. You take the brake pedal spring off first, then unplug the switch. There is a mounting nut you take off then slide the switch from mounting bracket. Just reverse the procedure to install the new one.

On the Honda if you have oil going into the air cleaner, you have a bad PCV valve or the vacuum line from the crankcase to the intake is clogged, missing or collapsed. If it was missing, you would have a huge vacuum leak, so I don't think that is a possibility. If you plug the line into the air cleaner, you will build up pressure inside the crankcase and that will cause the seals and gaskets to leak, not to mention the other problems high crankcase pressure can cause.
