Skylark Horn Blower

Q. I have a 1994 Buick Skylark, V-6 Engine, 2 door, Front Wheel Drive, 3.1 liter. When I put a 20 amp fuse that is supposed to be for the horn, the horn starts to blow for a few seconds by itself and then the fuse blows out. What could be causing this problem?

Stephanie

A. Well, it's a short circuit somewhere. The first thing I would suggest is to replace the horn relay and see if that is the problem. if not, then the next most likely place for a short is inside the steering wheel. The springs for the horn contacts break quite often and will cause the symptoms you describe.
