Questions and Answers

How Much??

Q. I would like to know what a front and rear brake job should cost? If you could be of any assistance please let me know.

Thank you,
Patti

A. That sounds like a simple question, but there is no, real, simple answer. That's like asking how much a house or boat costs.

In general, assuming there are no other problems, a typical front brake job can run between $75.00 to $125.00. That would include new brake pads and resurfacing the rotors. A rear brake job will run about $60.00 to $100.00. This would include new brake shoes and resurfacing the drums.

Jobs like this are often seen on sale for about $69.95 and $59.95 respectively.

Light trucks, vans, SUVs and some foreign cars will be more expensive due to the price of the pads and shoes and how much work is involved in removing the rotors.
