Chevy Malibu Brake Pressure Q. Hello, I have a 1999 Chevy Malibu 4 cylinder, automatic transmission with anti lock brakes. I bought the manual and don't see any thing about releasing the pressure in the system. Do I have to pump them 40 times like the older ones or are they different? Thanks for any help, Bob

A. I'm wondering why you want to relieve the pressure. Are you going to do some work on the system? This system does not have a reserve accumulator like the older ABS units did. If you are planing on dis-assembling the master cylinder or motor pack, you will need a scan tool to relieve the spring brake tension inside the unit. This is not a DIY job!
