Ford Mustang Stalls In Gear

Q. I have a 1995 Ford Mustang GT with a 5.0 liter engine, AODE transmission, and the car has 99,993 miles on it. It is fuel injected, has ABS brakes, P/S, A/C, and Cruise Control. I have a problem with the car running fine at idle in Park or Neutral, but when I shift to Reverse or any Forward gear it dies.

The only time it stays running is when you keep one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. On one occasion we did notice a small amount of transmission fluid on the ground, but we haven't noticed any since then.

Thanks,
Max

A. It could be the Torque Converter Clutch is stuck on. I would unplug the connector at the transmission and try it. If it stays running when you shift into drive, you've confirmed the TCC solenoid as bad.
