Ford E-150 Cruise Control Inop
Q. The cruise quit working on my 1997 Ford E-150 V-6 van. It didn't act up or anything before then but when I went to set it, it won't go into cruise. Maybe the fuse is bad but I don't know where the fuse is located and all the Chilton books don't show a cruise control fix it page.
It has always worked well and never any problems which leads me to believe the fuse may be blown. Maybe you could help me locate the fuse to check and a place where I can get information on repairs if that is not the problem.
Warren,
North Port, FloridaA. There are several possible reasons the cruise control will not work at all. First would be the fuse is blown. The cruise control fuse is #6 and fuse #11 (both 10 amp) in the fuse box.
Other possibilities are a bad Stoplight switch, Brake Pressure switch, Cruise Control switch or a burnt out third brake light bulb.
