Camry Axle Shafts

Q. Hi Vince, I am replacing the right and left drive axles on my 1995 Toyota Camry (4 cylinder, A/C, automatic, non ABS-4 door sedan)

I was able to replace the left side with no problem.

I cannot get the right side out. It seems that the intermediate shaft bearing is stuck or something. Is this a common problem with these cars and is there any special way to get the axle off? Or should I just beat it out with a big hammer?

Thanks,
RW

A. There is a bolt and snap ring that has to be removed from the axle support before the axle will slide out. Once you remove them, the axle will slide right out. In the diagram below The arrow points to the bolt you need to remove.
