Volkswagen Jetta Radio Security Code

Q. Hello, my name is Carol and I have a 1994 Volkswagen Jetta. I'm not sure when it started, but my car radio does not work. When I turn it on, it only says "Safe" as in "safe-mode" and there is no sound. Could there be a way to fix this? Your help would be so much appreciated!!!

Sincerely,
Carol

Volkswagen Jetta Radio Security Code

A. You will need to re-enter the radio security code. At some point the radio must have lost all power and when it came back on, it went into the security mode.

The coding process to enter the security code is activated by holding the MODE and SCAN buttons depressed. The security code is entered by using the first four radio station preset buttons.

The code is in the radio owner's manual. If you do not have the radio owners manual, take the car to a Volkswagen Dealer and they can get it for you.
