Dodge Intrepid Tail Lights Out
Q. Vincent, Hello, I have written you in the past and received helpful advice so I think I will try again! I have a 1993 Dodge Intrepid with a 3.3 liter 6 cylinder engine. Heres my problem, my rear right (when I'm sitting in sitting facing forward in the car) tail lights are out. I first checked the fuses, and they are fine. Next I checked the bulbs, and they too are fine.
So I am assuming it is the wires, but I have no idea where they are, or how to change them. If this is the problem, could you tell me how to go about fixing it? If not, please inform me what I will need to do to get the tail lights (brake lights work fine) working again?
Thanks again for your time,
DanielA. If the right license plate, right back-up ,right tail/stop, right tail/turn signal and right marker lights are all out, I would have to look at the connector for the right rear lights. It is a black 6 pin connector with the following wires; black/yellow, black, white/tan and tan. Unplug the connector and check for power, with the lights, turn signal and brakes on. If there is power there then the connector is bad.
That is the only thing all these lights have in common.
If it is just the right tail lights that are out, check the black/yellow wire between the light socket and the connector. If there is power all the way to the socket, check the black ground wire. If all that is good the light socket itself is bad and will need to be replaced.
I highlighted the wire you need to check in red in the diagram below. The Body Lamp Ground is the ground you have to check.
