Volkswagen Jetta Clutch

Q. Hi, Vincent. I'm trying to remove the transmission of my 1987 Volkswagen Jetta. I already removed all visible bolts and nuts, detached the starter and all wiring and stuff, but from the hole where the starter goes I can see some bolts. Do I have to remove them also? What else do I have to remove to detach the transmission from the engine? I'd appreciate you helping me.

Thanks...

A. There are three bolts on the clutch cover plate that have to be removed. (The cover plate will remain on the engine when the transaxle is removed). Then there is a bolt behind the small cover plate which is located behind the left drive flange. I think those are the bolts you're referring to.
