Chevy Silverado Brake Problem

Q. Hello Vincent, I have a 1992 Chevy Silverado Sportside pickup, 350 A/T, A/C. Brakes were put on about 8,000 miles ago and now when you get to the speed of 35 mph the dash brake light comes on. I checked the brakes and they are fine and also parking brake working properly, there is proper fluid level, brakes work fine.

If you shut the truck off the light does not come back on unless you hit 35 mph. Is there a sensor that is causing this light to come on.

Thanks,
Warren

A. This truck probably has RWAL. That is Rear Wheel Anti-Lock brakes. The truck is detecting a problem in this system. Could be a defective brake switch. You should have it checked at a dealer for DTC's to see what the problem is.
