200SX Timing Belt

Q. I am replacing the timing belt on the following vehicle: 1986 Nissan 200SX with a 2.0 liter engine and automatic transmission. I have removed the old one and have purchased a replacement belt, but the auto parts store did not have information available in order that I put the belt on correctly.

My question is: Are there some guide marks that need to be aligned on the top and bottom when I replace this belt? I want to align them correctly and not have to do it more than once because I did not align the two "gears" correctly. I would appreciate any response from you to help me avoid making a total fool of myself.

Thank You,
Brian

A. Well Brian, I don't want you to make a fool of yourself so here is the information you need. Timing Marks

You may need to get a timing belt from a Nissan dealer, I have found that some aftermarket timing belts do not have the white marks on the belt needed to set them up correctly.
