Chevy S-10 Blazer Keeps Dying

Q. 1998 Chevy S-10 Blazer, 4.3 liter V-6, 125,000 miles and automatic transmission. I have had a lot of work done on this truck, but lately have a stalling, dying problem. Owner at repair shop and I cannot figure it out. He thinks fuel pump. Did a diagnostic, but no codes come up. Vehicle runs for half to one hour before having trouble.

Chevy S-10 Blazer Keeps Dying

Seems like something must load up and just make it die. But it starts right back up again. Changed fuel filter. fuel pump is noisy but it does work. I'll be driving down the road, no shutter and it will just die, kind of like you just pulled the plug on the engine.

Start up run a mile or two and die again. It did it to me 11 times yesterday, just enough to get it to the repairman. Checked the heated oxygen sensor and it is fine. Changed battery and it is fine. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

A. You need to put a fuel pressure gauge on it and have it cut out to see if it's losing fuel pressure. If pressure is okay, then you need to install a spark tester on a plug wire to see if spark is cutting out. You need to start looking somewhere and there's nothing like making sure you have the main ingredients, fuel and spark!
