What Are These Wires For??

Q. Hi, I've put an 1983 Towncar door on an 1984 Towncar and came up with a wiring problem. On the wiring for the power door locks and the security sensor, there are a couple of extra wires on the new door. One's a pink wire & the other is black with green stripes. What should I do with the extra wires? Can you help me?

Mark

A. I looked at the wiring diagrams for both 1983 and 1984 and I see no solid pink wire or a black with a green tracer. The pink wires denote the power door locks circuit but they are traced with colored dots. Perhaps this pink wire has dots on it and you didn't take it as a tracer? The only black wires I see in the door are all ground wires with no mention at all of a tracer.

Sorry I can't be of any help to you with this.
