Oldsmobile Alero Cylinder #4 Misfire

Q. Good Afternoon, My 1999 Oldsmobile Alero V-6 with about 80,000 miles keeps reading a misfire in cylinder 4. It had done this on three separate occasions. The mechanic changed the spark plugs, wires and the coil in cylinder 4, but its still coming on.

Oldsmobile Alero Cylinder #4 Misfire

My second problem is months ago, my alternator went out and the needle to temperature gauge completely reversed, because of that I wouldn't know if my car is hot, how do I get it to return to its original position?

Thank you in advance...

A. Has he done a compression test? How about an injector balance test? Most likely a bad injector which may be made better by cleaning them with GM's new procedure.

As for the temperature Gauge, that will have to be replaced.
