1988 Engine Versus 1993 Engine

Q. I have a 1988 Chevy S-10 and I need a new motor. I am looking at a 1993 S-10 motor and was wondering if the wiring would be the same.

Thanks,
Ben

A. I have always believed in the K.I.S.S. principle. That is Keep It Simple, Stupid.

Since all you need is the engine, I would strip the manifolds, motor mounts and brackets off of the replacement engine and transfer the ones from the old engine to it. This way you do not have to worry about the wiring and where things are and go on the replacement.

As you go along, you can compare parts and if they are an exact match. if they are, then you can put them aside as spare parts.
