Volvo Needs New Eyes

Q. I am new to the chat and I currently have an older Volvo 86 which needs the inside of the headlight lens to be cleaned, It is yellow in color. Any tips or info is greatly appreciated.

A. I really wish I had some sage words of advice to offer you Steve, But unfortunately, I don't. This is a common problem with this type of headlight on any car. I have seen it on Nissans, Toyotas and Hondas.

The inside of that headlight is chrome plated plastic. Over time between the heat of the headlights and moisture trapped inside the lens, the chrome plating deteriorates and flakes of. The only thing you can do is to replace the whole headlight lens assembly.
