Voyager Needs A Key

Q. The rear door lock on my Plymouth Voyager wouldn't open about a year ago, then the sliding door and the passenger door locks wouldn't open. Now the passenger lock is becoming difficult to open with the key. These are manual locks. The keys seem to be ok. Now I have to leave the van unlocked to make sure I can get in. Any ideas?

A. It would seem to me that the key is just about worn out. It is possible that all the locks over a period of time have broken, but four locks in about a year? That is a little hard for me to believe. I would go to a locksmith or the dealer and have a brand new key made, not a duplicate of the old one, but one made from the cars key number. If that doesn't lock and unlock the locks, then the locks themselves will have to be replaced.

The problem with this is, each lock will have a different key. What I would do is buy the new locks and have a locksmith re-key them to use the same key.
