Chevy IROC Oil Pressure
Q. I have a 1987 Chevy Camaro IROC, 5.0 liter, TPI. When I kill the motor the oil pressure gauge sticks in position and the 20 amp fuse on fender well that runs the fuel pump blows, that is unless I turn the key back on, wait for the oil gauge to quit flopping and settle, then turn key back off. This problem has existed for two years. Any idea?
Thanks...
A. Try replacing the oil pressure switch. It controls the gauge and has a back-up circuit inside that runs the fuel pump. Since they are both acting up I would suspect a bad switch.
