Jeep Wrangler Check Engine Light Q. My 2000 Jeep Wrangler Check Engine Light (CEL) just went on yesterday. When I turn it ON-OFF-ON-OFF to get the codes, I do not get any. I know that I do the procedure to get the codes correctly because I tried it on my Brothers 2000 Dodge Durango. My question is why doesn't my car indicate what is wrong with it?

Might it have something to do with me disconnecting the connections for the interior lights that go on when the door opens?

A. Daimler Chrysler does not provide a procedure for retrieving or clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes without a scan tool. Sometimes the ON-OFF-ON-OFF works and sometimes it doesn't.
