Explorer Fuel Leak

Q. 1993 Ford Explorer. There is a leak from above the fuel tank. After a trip it drips for a few minutes then stops. Any ideas on what is actually leaking and how to fix it?

Thanks

A. There's not too much above the fuel tank to leak. I think the most probable cause is either the fuel feed or return line. The fact that it drips for a while and stops would seem to confirm this. If it was an actual fuel tank leak, it would be fairly constant. If it is indeed one of the fuel lines, then it will be leaking whenever the engine is running.

You will need to drop the fuel tank in any case and once it's down the leak will be easy to spot and repair.
