Mazda 626 Has A Lot Of Jerking
Q. Problem: I am not a guru in explaining the problem in automotive language. Recently I am feeling that my Mazda engine is slipping in drive mode. Especially, when I yield to merge on to high-ways (where I am not in complete stop), and press the accelerator to merge on to Highway, I am noticing like two or three jerks in the engine (loosing power), as if it is going to stop.
Afterwards, there is no problem. It is not happening in regular starting or driving. It is also happening after coming to complete stop at traffic lights, only two or three small jerks. Recently Check Engine Light came and stayed for a while. I took it to some mechanic and was told that MAF sensor is gone. But he said there is no immediate necessity to change. I took it easy and the light went off on its own. Please advise.

SPA. There is a TSB on this problem. It involves a transmission servo piston replacement and PCM reprogramming. I would take it to the dealer and let them drive it and have them confirm this.
