Intermittent No Start

Q. Hello, My 1994 Honda Civic DX Coupe 2 door with automatic transmission intermittently fails to start. I turn the key and I hear a click, but no turning. It will start eventually, or has every time so far, sometimes sooner (one or two tries), and sometimes after 20 minutes of frustration.

I've heard different opinions on this, just wondering if the fact it is intermittent narrows things down any.

Your help is appreciated,
Doug

A. The fact that it is intermittent does make me think that your starter is about ready to go out on you. What you can do is put a test light on the small spade connector on the solenoid and see if it lights when you go to start the engine. If it does light, and I'm 95% sure it will, then everything up to there is okay and it's the starter that needs replacing.
