Honda Accord Transmission Jolt Q. Vincent, I'm having problems with my transmission, there is a slight hesitant, then a jolt with pressing the accelerator. The dealership told me I need a new transmission. I think there are a few things I can do before I do that, like change the fluid and filter. What do you think? 1998 Honda Accord EX V-6. A. Excellent idea. A transmission fluid (not a flush) and transmission filter change would be the first thing I would recommend.

If you still have the problem, take it to a couple of places and get their opinions. A dealer can tend to make a quick diagnosis.
