Jeep Cherokee Blows HVAC Fuse

Q. I have a problem that the fuse for my blower motor keeps blowing. I just replaced my blower motor and it didn't solve the problem. The blower works fine when I turn on the heater or A/C, but only if the car is NOT running. If I have the car running then try and turn on the A/C, or heater. it comes one for like one or two seconds then blows the fuse.

I make sure I have nothing else turned on when I do this and it still blows. Any advice would be appreciated.

A. This is odd... I'm assuming when you say "the car is running" you mean the engine is running. There is no correlation between the ON position with or without the engine running. All things should be equal.

I guess I would start looking around the area of the blower motor. Look at all the harnesses and see if any have been chafed or worn through. After that I would check the Blower Motor Resistor. It is common for them to go bad.

After that, you're going to have to use the wiring diagram and trace the wiring and check the HVAC Mode Panel. I wish I could say where exactly, but this is the best I can do for you.
