Chevy Monte Carlo Overheating

Q. Dear Vincent, I own a 1995 Chevy Monte Carlo with a 3.1 V-6. Recently am having problems with my car overheating. I have changed the thermostat, water pump, and radiator. After changing the radiator it ran fine for the day and started to over heat again. So I pressure tested the system and found that I have coolant pooling up under the upper intake cover where the thermostat bypass hose goes. The clamps are tight by the water pump.

Thank you,
Marvin

Chevy Monte Carlo Overheating

A. Very common for the intake gaskets to leak. This should not make it overheat unless you let it run low on coolant though. You may want to check the operation of the electric cooling fans.
