Keeping Memory During Battery Change

Q. Thank you for taking time to answer my question. I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The battery needs to be replaced. Do I have to keep a constant 12 volts to the system from another source when I take out the old battery? Is there any special way to do this other than using another battery?

Thanks again for your time...

Keeping Memory During Battery Change

A. You can buy a COMPUTER MEMORY SAVER that will keep your radio settings clock and PCM memory supplied with power while you replace the battery.

You can get them at most larger auto parts stores.
