Honda Civic Has A Bad Main Relay? Q. I have a 1991 Honda Civic 4 speed hatchback that doesn't start at times when the interior is hot. This is intermittent. I checked the main relay using the continuity test you suggested. The relay checked out but I'm wondering since it's an intermittent problem wouldn't it be possible for the relay to check out but still be intermittently bad? I could have checked it when it was working. Thanks, Craig

A. It most certainly possible for the main relay to check out good. The Honda Main Relay is very sensitive to heat. You might try testing it while heating it up with a blow dryer. That may pinpoint the relay for sure.
