Ford Expedition Fuel Economy Q. I Have a 1997 Ford Expedition, 5.4 liter, automatic transmission, 60,000, I only get 13 mpg and would really like to improve that. I heard that bringing the car to the dealer and upgrading the computer can help gas mileage. I would like your help on getting better gas mileage I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Chad

A. You don't mention what kind of driving you do, but 13 mpg is just about right for that vehicle with that engine. About all you can do is get a good tune-up and check with Ford to see if there are any software updates for your PCM. That may get you another two or three mpg.
