Ford Ranger Lost It's Spark

Q. Hi! I have a 1987 Ford Ranger with a 2.3 liter engine. It was idling then staled. I checked for spark and there was none. The coil has two wires. With the ignition switch on one wire had 12 volts, the other had a little more than volts. Could the problem be the coil or the ignition module? How can I test the module?

Thanks!
Bill

A. If there is a code 14 stored in the computer, then the Thick Film Ignition (TFI) module or it's connector is bad. Not uncommon for this vehicle.
