Dielectric Silicone Grease

Q. Hello Vincent, My question is about a preventive maintenance procedure that I've been doing to all of the hi-tech electrical and electronic connectors that are also supposedly weather and watertight. I take them apart and pump them full of dielectric silicone grease and put them back together and never had a problem. Being from Hawaii I am very concerned about the salt air and water corroding these connections.Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Dielectric Silicone Grease

A. Nothing wrong with that. I do the same thing on any electrical connector I work on or when I install a new component.
