Q.
I have a 1987 Ford Escort GL with a 1.9 liter EFI and it stalls. So far I put an ignition module in it and it got better than it stalled again about 35 miles after I replaced it. The first time it stalled it was at a stop light at idle and then after that its been stalling at around 30 miles per hour. First it starts jerking and bogging down and then it kills when I try to start it.
It usually starts for about three seconds then kills but if I wait like five minutes then it starts and usually runs at least five miles. I brought it to the shop and they didn't know what was wrong with it. Then I brought it to my friends house and we got it to kill in his driveway three times he said the injectors were spraying good and then it stops. He said it seems like it gets enough gas. He thought it might be electrical.
Do you have any ideas?
A. This sounds an awful lot like a clogged fuel filter. I would replace the fuel filter before I do anything else.
