Chrysler Concorde Stuck In Park

Q. Hi Vince, we have a 2000 Chrysler Concorde lxi with 85,000 kilometers, 3.4 liter and automatic transmission. The problem is once the car has been driven for some time and warmed up it will refuse to come out of park. Our Dealer replaced the interlock solenoid in the transmission but the problem came back.

Chrysler Concorde Stuck In Park

I replaced the brake shift interlock relay at the brake pedal but no luck. I hoping it's not the drive train binding (its too new). The work around is to turn the car off and shift into neutral and start, not the most elegant fix but for now it doesn't leave my wife stranded. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

A. The fact that you can turn the car off, shift into neutral and then start the car proves it is related to the Shift Interlock System.

It's possible the shift interlock cable is mis-adjusted. I would let the dealer look at this for you.
