Nissan Altima GXE Check Engine Light On

Q. Hello, I seek your assistance to find out why my check light is on. My car is a 1997 Nissan Altima GXE with 65,000 miles. About 10 days ago I could not get it started after running about 20 miles in the night. Jump start was not successful so it had to be towed to a garage where the battery and a fuse were replaced. But after that the check light is on. Oil levels are ok. Reconnecting of battery cable too didn't work. Please advise me if your service is free only.

Thank you

A. Actually I charge $1,000,000.00 per question. Now if I could only get at least one person to pay me...

In my Customer lounge I have a small display case with an ordinary can of Coca Cola in it. The price tag is $1,000,000.00. When people ask me how many do I expect to sell at that price, I tell them all I need to do is sell one can.

There are quite a few things that can cause the check engine light to go on. It is very possible that a voltage spike when the car was jumped burned out a control unit or the main ECU. I'm afraid that I can't help you too much. You will need to take it to a Nissan dealer where they can plug in their diagnostic tester and check the whole system out.

You can still send me the $1,000,000.00 if you want.
